The slow press
of vanishing things.
Aetheneum publishes nine titles a year — out-of-print philosophy, suppressed correspondence, marginalia by writers who outlived their reputation. Each volume hand-bound, foil-stamped, numbered to 1,200.
The Autumn Catalogue.
FROM THE
MANSARDE
Letters from
the Mansarde.
The previously unpublished correspondence between Marcel Tournier and his estranged sister, recovered from the attic of a Lyon apartment in 2019. Tournier wrote these letters in the seven years between his expulsion from the Sorbonne and his death.
The translation, by Adelaide Voss, is the first in any language. The book is published in an edition of 1,200, of which the first 200 are signed by Voss and slipcased in oxblood goatskin.
